An opportunity for an experienced financial adviser, paraplanner or compliance professional to join an ambitious financial services law firm.

You will be advising clients seeking redress on unsuitable retail investment products.

You will have client facing experience in the retail financial advice industry, together with a broad and thorough understanding of regulations, advice suitability requirements and retail investment products.

Key responsibilities:

Following up on leads, handling inbound and outbound phone calls with prospective clients who have made an enquiry and are awaiting contact. (No cold calling in any form)

Appraising cases against the rules and regulations concerning retail financial advice.

Checking suitability of past advice.

Calculating redress (training given).

Deploying excellent personal organisation skills and a rapid turnaround to enable the organisation to provide a great service to the client.

Liaising with clients predominantly by email and telephone and keeping existing clients fully informed about their case.

Utilising Case Management software to progress cases.

Proactively organising schedules, including diary management and meeting coordination.

You will be hard working, enthusiastic and outgoing and will have excellent client service skills gained within a client – facing environment. You will be natural at building rapport with clients and will quickly gain their confidence with your knowledge, expertise and professionalism.

This position is at a senior level which means you will:

Be a ‘self – starter’.

Take ownership of the development of your professional knowledge and expertise.

Have the skills and willingness to supervise, encourage, train and develop other less experienced colleagues.

In addition, you will be asked to demonstrate the following:

Ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing with a wide range of clients.

High level of numeracy.

Ability to accurately process high volumes of information.

Qualifications & experience:

Good academic background.
Experience in retail financial advice market (bancassurance or IFA).
Level 3 financial advice qualification e.g. CeFA/FPC (minimum).
Level 4 financial advice qualification e.g. Dip. FS/FA (CII/IFS) (preferred).
Broad knowledge of the UK retail financial services regulatory environment since the 1980s (LAUTRO, FIMBRA, PIA, FSA, FCA). Detailed knowledge of retail pension and investment products since the 1980s, including personal pensions, stakeholder pensions, SIPPs, Section 32 transfer/buyout plans, PEPs, ISAs, Unit Trusts/OEICs/GIAs, Whole of Life policies, Investment Bonds (incl. With Profits), UCIS, Structured Products.
Experience of working with a variety of IT packages (Case Management Systems, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
