Senior Buyer – Foodservice

Client
3PL Foodservice business with an enviable blue-chip customer base and turnover in excess of £600m.

Objective
Find a Senior Buyer to look at the effective and profitable buying and management of ambient product to meet customer requirements and balance inventory across the supply chain.  The candidate will be experienced in balancing supply requirements across a network for multiple demanding clients, providing the key commercial interface at senior level with clients in the escalation and resolution of stock queries.

Method
Recommended a Network Search option combined with an Internet Advertising Campaign.  Placed adverts on specialist job boards without client branding due to the confidential nature of the client’s recruitment.  Supplemented this by searching our own network for suitable candidates and recommendations.

Result
Despite a high volume of response to the advert there was only really one candidate whose ambition fitted the growth the client envisaged in the role.  This person came from our own network, the client took our recommendation and met with the one candidate.  Another two interviews, an assessment and a presentation later they offered the role, which after a little negotiation was accepted.
