Head of Supply Chain – Ref: 114553

Senior industrial supply chain manager with extensive experience in logistics and process improvement. Wide ranging international experience and successful career progression within a leading blue chip manufacturing business and most recently within a manufacturing and industrial products supply chain. Part of the core UK Management Team, accountable for the full supply chain within the UK business including procurement, warehousing, customer service, demand planning, distribution, S&OP and inventory management.

Key Experience & Achievements include:

  • Full end to end supply chain and inventory management across 2,500 SKUs, with a spend responsibility of £30M. Initially employed to lead the Supply Chain elements of a SAP implementation running coincident to a business merger.
  • From a zero-base ensured all key processes were documented to then align the business needs with SAP capability, developing numerous Excel-based tools to meet any capability gaps in process and reporting. A measure of the success is that the business achieved budget for all sales, profit, service and inventory metrics since go-live.
  • Established the Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) cycle within the business to align demand planning and supply planning activities. Consequentially forecast accuracy by product group improved from <70% to >90%, OTIF service on key accounts improved from <75% to >98%, whilst simultaneously reducing inventory by ~£1M (26%).
  • Led the OP&S activities across multiple manufacturing plants globally across all key business product groups, promoting best practice to reduce cost through identifying synergies.
  • Formed and led a cohesive supply chain team of 24 people spread across 14 countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Kept a strong team ethic through regular communication, essential to service a rapidly globalising customer base.
  • Established consistent planning processes, KPIs and reporting across the plants to facilitate information sharing, improve responsiveness and reduce costs.
  • Key player in providing a rapid response to the 2009 financial crisis by developing plans to reshape the asset footprint to reduce cost and bring capacity back in line with a 25% reduction in demand, whilst retaining service levels and flexibility to respond to any upturn.
  • Developed 5-year supply plan for new market that drove an investment programme of $400M to increase capacity from 100kT to 500kT over 3 years.
  • Key member of the Exports team, optimising supply routes to reduce delivered cost and increase profitable asset utilisation. Established a process to regularly review sales opportunities for obsolete, slow-moving and blocked stock, reducing sub-prime inventory by over 60%

Head of Operations / Business Development – Ref: 56452

Dynamic, multi-branded, experienced professional combining a highly successful career in the luxury goods sector with a portfolio of brands and more recently UK High Street retail with over 1,000 branches. Combines an enthusiastic, energetic, focused and ambitious style with key interest areas in commercial development, change management, organisational management and people.

Key Experience and Achievements include:

  • Initialisation, development and implementation of a new service business in the North Of England including; securing; organising and designing premises, designing efficient business flows, procurement, initiation of local P+L, designing local IT software to support the organisation, recruiting local and international talent to run the operation.
  • Initialisation, development and integration of a new technology recycling operation including all business elements and recruitment.
  • Member of the UK Board (Executive Committee) with operational control for a UK business with turnover of  £60million and 150 employees.
  • Secured double digit year on year profitability growth over the eight years of tenure taking the business from a negative profitability to double digit profit position.
  • Member of Global Board for Customer Service Operations; developing and implementing a Customer Service Development programme across 120 counties.
  • Designed and implemented CRM and marketing strategy for the UK operations which was then utilised at HQ and rolled out across the global market.
  • Designed, developed and implemented a retail strategic plan to introduce a luxury brand to the UK market in branded stores. Created  a UK retail network of 2 x boutiques and 3 x outlets to deliver £8 million turnover and strong profitability.
  • Responsible for identifying new site identification and development in UK market. Implemented brand directives on the development of locations including merchandising, training and marketing. Designed and implemented business processes and operating controls to underpin inventory, audit, cash and customer service policies.

An immediately available ACA qualified (Big 4 Trained) technically strong and commercially minded Financial Controller. Has a down to earth approach with strong systems, technical accounting, business partnering and process improvement background.

Key Experience & Achievements include:

  • Developed and implemented quality financial and management reporting systems whilst maintaining robust financial controls.
  • Technical lead for key business accounting issues and all aspects of statutory reporting (UK GAAP and IFRS).
  • Managed teams of between 5-25 staff
  • Management of the budgeting and forecasting process and business partnering with operations to deliver commercial decision support to improve business performance (Development of KPI’s and trading analysis etc.)
  • Development and roll out of new systems to enable process automation and managed various financial integrations.

  • Exceeded $40m savings through negotiation, supplier base rationalisation and Value Analysis / Value Engineering.
  • Led a sourcing change management programme. Re-engineered processes and coached team into developing new opportunities.
  • Innovated application of e-Sourcing across multiple European businesses. Trained, planned and demonstrated quick wins and long terms cost strategies across a key range of materials and indirects suppliers.
