Private Equity backed niche software company targeting financial services and automotive companies both in the UK and overseas.

Objective
The brief was to recruit a Business Development Manager who could take a market leading product and develop and lead a sales strategy that would dramatically increase revenues.   Whilst the opportunity in the future would be to recruit and manage a sales team, initially the requirement was for a ‘hands on’ Business Developer who could lead and manage the sales process from end to end.

Method
The client operated in a very niche area so the option to recruit from direct competitors was limited. Using our existing network of contacts and targeted headhunting (from businesses who ‘solution sold’ to the relevant sectors) we spoke with and interviewed many potential candidates to assess their experience, aspirations and motivations.

Result
The result was the client interviewed two candidates, who were both invited back for the final stage to present their sales strategy. In the end the board agreed on the preferred candidate who accepted their offer.
