The client was a major European discount fashion retailer, and US subsidiary, with around 500 retail outlets in the UK and a substantial multi-site distribution infrastructure.

Our objective was to find an Operations Director to run one of the largest Distribution sites in the supply chain.  The candidate must be comfortable contributing at board level to the overall supply chain strategy, in addition to driving excellence in all matters involving the operational and financial running of the site.

The client was looking for a low-key and confidential approach to the recruitment.  Our method was to carry out a Network Search through our existing contacts and candidate network, identifying potential candidates with the required experience, industry standing and skills to take on such a large and key role.

This approach quickly produced some strong results; we identified several potential and interested candidates without the general market becoming aware of the process.  These were then interviewed specifically in relation to the vacancy, two stood out who were forwarded to the client for their assessment.  The client undertook a long interview process with the two candidates covering several months, which we successfully managed, before making a successful offer.
