Supply Chain Director – Ref: 55745

High calibre Operations and Supply Chain Director with a wealth of experience working in well known international companies. Has a reputation for establishing long term working relationships with internal and external parties and an excellent record of delivering a complete supply chain, on an international basis, from demand management through to final product delivery.

Expertise includes:

  • Global operations and supply chain strategy development and deployment.
  • End to end Supply Chain management with budget responsibility up to £100m.
  • Management of Supply chain teams of up to 50.
  • Sales and Operations Planning process management.

Career Highlights Include:

  • Established a five year supply chain strategy to meet the business needs and achieve the planned growth objectives.
  • Project managed the complete re-launch/re-design of all the SKU’s of a major brand.
  • Re-negotiated and implemented new supply contracts with chosen strategic manufacturing and co-packing partners.

Finance Director / Controller – Ref: 115045

CIMA Qualified Finance Director/ Controller with a first class academic background and extensive experience of the manufacturing industry. Experience in the Engineering, FMCG and Automotive sectors both in the UK and Internationally. A technically strong accountant and leader with a high level of commercial acumen and excellent analytical skills.

Key Experience Includes:

  • As the Finance Director of an International FMCG business (a subsidiary of a large blue-chip company) led the Company’s finance teams in the UK and overseas.
  • Review of all financing and implementing new (more beneficial) arrangements.
  • Significantly improving working capital position through more effective supplier management.
  • Involvement in all strategic and operational issues across the business and development of new systems, processes and tighter financial controls.
  • As the Financial Controller of a medium sized multi-site engineering business led bid teams, negotiated price changes to enhance margins, developed improved costing systems and led the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Other experience includes significant involvement with strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, investment appraisals, competitor and market analysis, implementing SOX and IFRS and managing a variety of systems and ERP changes.

An innovative and experienced Procurement Manager with proven expertise maximising opportunities in diverse procurement functions, leading projects and building high performance procurement teams. Leads procurement teams to create strategies in complex environments through understanding key drivers, analysing precise needs, setting priorities and directly influencing board executives on long-term plans; includes strategic sourcing, category management, key supplier partnerships, purchase to pay, governance frameworks and risk controls

  • Adapting Category Management functions to meet changing requirements, with a focus on cost reduction, utilisation of the latest technologies and building stronger supplier relationships.
  • Leading the development and delivery of a fully integrated annual procurement plan and creation of a Category management approach by analysing requirements and setting priorities for a £multi-million spend.

  • Led SRM programme to improve supplier relationships by the introduction of a balanced scorecard methodology, robust selection procedures, regular audits and ISO 14001 quality compliance. Improved performance of key partners by introducing KPI metrics and targeting actions (i.e. improved scores from 46% to 87% in under 6 months).
  • Developed a Supplier Consolidation strategy quadrupling savings with no additional resource investment. Leading selection of 2 total facilities management soft services partners (reducing over 600+ providers). Also, reducing MRO supplier numbers by over 500 through integrated supply approach.
  • Led significant Capex projects (circa £25m each) to deliver new technology and operational capabilities utilising Total Cost of Ownership Approach; used strong process and engineering knowledge to help optimise process flows and efficiencies.
  • Successfully re-negotiated high value contracts to create up to £4M additional value in greater cost efficiencies (i.e. saved 33% on cost of purchase for production line facilities using PET bottles).
  • Created Group Procurement Functions utilising a Category Management model for a diversified £1.5Bn infrastructure / engineering group (reported to Group Supply Chain Director). Defined structures, roles and responsibilities; Purchase-to-Pay Cycles; core processes; skills expertise (talent); technology and systems; governance and compliance; led industry benchmarking.
