Objective
The current Finance Director was in the process of moving on to a new opportunity and before his departure he had been tasked with the job of finding a replacement. However, it was decided that the investor relations and strategic aspects of the role could be undertaken by other board members so the role was essentially downgraded to that of a Finance Manager. Ideally, the Finance Director wanted a hand over period with the new incumbent which meant that a long notice period for the successful candidate could pose some problems.

Method
The client wanted to recruit an ACA Qualified Accountantant with around 5 years post qualified experience. We contacted relevant candidates from our network, undertook targetted advertising on the web and directly approached a number of potential candidates who we felt fitted the profile.

Result
We shortlisted three candidates for the client, two of whom were immediately available. The client offered one of the immediately available candidates and ensured a smooth hand over before he left.
